Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 4.57% or 10.80 points to trade at 247.35 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) added 2.70% or 17.90 points to end at 679.80 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.95% or 0.29 points to 15.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which lost 2.72% or 5.15 points to trade at 183.85 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.71% or 2.62 points to end at 94.10 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) shed 2.16% or 4.50 points to 203.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 4.70% to 9.14, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was up 4.57% to settle at 247.35 and Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which gained 3.46% to close at 25.72.
The worst performers were Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was down 4.88% to 10.14 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 3.87% to settle at 13.65 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 3.81% to 19.70 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 261 to 231 and 95 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 3.10 to $2,664.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.39% or 2.52 to hit $76.90 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.22% or 2.51 to trade at $80.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.22.
