Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which rose 1.39% or 3.30 points to trade at 240.10 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 1.20% or 1.66 points to end at 139.50 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 1.09% or 0.50 points to 46.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 3.02% or 6.50 points to trade at 208.45 in late trade. Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) declined 1.17% or 0.34 points to end at 28.65 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) shed 1.05% or 0.09 points to 8.64.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which rose 7.48% to 68.25, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 2.13% to settle at 12.45 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which gained 1.43% to close at 198.40.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 18.91% to 0.16 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 11.75% to settle at 2.75 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 6.89% to 5.21 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 173 and 106 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.53% or 14.00 to $2,665.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.28% or 0.88 to hit $69.63 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.86 to trade at $73.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 107.07.
