Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food Producers, Leisure Goods and Industrial Transportation sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.04%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Legrand SA (PARIS:LEGD), which rose 1.32% or 0.61 points to trade at 46.95 at the close. Renault SA (PARIS:RENA) added 1.28% or 1.02 points to end at 81.02 and Danone SA (PARIS:DANO) was up 1.14% or 0.65 points to 57.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cap Gemini (PARIS:CAPP), which lost 2.28% or 1.51 points to trade at 64.63 in late trade. Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) declined 1.68% or 0.28 points to end at 16.07 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) shed 1.49% or 0.15 points to 9.69.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Areva (PARIS:AREVA) which rose 2.52% to 9.65, Bollore (PARIS:BOLL) which was up 2.40% to settle at 4.48 and Air France KLM SA (PARIS:AIRF) which gained 2.32% to close at 7.581.
The worst performers were Atos (PARIS:ATOS) which was down 2.97% to 66.65 in late trade, Montupet SA (PARIS:MNTP) which lost 2.37% to settle at 73.830 and Cap Gemini (PARIS:CAPP) which was down 2.28% to 64.63 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 452 to 450 and 52 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.97% to 22.29.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.80% or 22.10 to $1205.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 2.24% or 1.20 to hit $52.47 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.41 to trade at $60.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1418, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.7434.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 94.13.
