Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.45% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which rose 0.86% or 0.23 points to trade at 26.85 at the close. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 0.44% or 0.12 points to end at 27.69 and Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) was down 0.03% or 0.01 points to 33.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which lost 2.90% or 0.195 points to trade at 6.540 in late trade. DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) declined 2.85% or 0.5200 points to end at 17.7000 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) shed 2.73% or 0.70 points to 24.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 58 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.23% or 0.78 to $62.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.39% or 0.76 to hit $53.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1228.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.382.
