Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.09% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO), which rose 2.27% or 0.22 points to trade at 9.68 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 1.98% or 0.66 points to end at 34.00 and Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 1.07% or 0.15 points to 14.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 1.62% or 0.28 points to trade at 16.97 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.56% or 0.07 points to end at 4.28 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) shed 1.01% or 0.04 points to 3.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 83 and 22 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.57% or 0.41 to $71.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $68.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 17.96 to trade at $2,664.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.85% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.96% at 105.94.
