Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 5.02% or 0.56 points to trade at 11.72 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 3.58% or 0.92 points to end at 26.64 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 3.46% or 0.10 points to 2.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA), which lost 0.57% or 0.35 points to trade at 61.40 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 0.35% or 0.18 points to end at 51.48 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) gained 0.03% or 0.01 points to 39.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 54 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.93% or 0.68 to $73.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.71 to hit $70.33 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.79% or 20.84 to trade at $2,633.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 107.85.
