Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.30% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which rose 6.04% or 1.60 points to trade at 28.08 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 4.07% or 2.14 points to end at 54.72 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) was up 0.71% or 0.12 points to 17.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which lost 1.65% or 0.54 points to trade at 32.28 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 1.08% or 0.55 points to end at 50.50 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) shed 0.82% or 0.14 points to 17.03.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 70 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.03% or 0.02 to $67.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $61.49 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 4.10 to trade at $1318.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1970, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 92.07.
