Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 2.76% or 0.275 points to trade at 10.240 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 2.71% or 0.136 points to end at 5.146 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 2.20% or 0.69 points to 32.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 3.76% or 2.60 points to trade at 66.58 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 1.98% or 0.52 points to end at 25.78 and YIT Oyj (HE:YIT) shed 1.34% or 0.07 points to 5.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 65 and 27 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.61% or 0.46 to $76.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.30% or 0.20 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1302.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1786, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.58.
