Investing.com – China equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Banking, Life Insurance and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.32%, while the SZSE Component index gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shen Ma Industry Co Ltd (SS:600810), which rose 10.03% or 1.820 points to trade at 19.970 at the close. ButOne Information Corp XiAn (SS:600455) added 10.01% or 2.140 points to end at 23.510 and Liaoning Fu-An Heavy Industry Co Ltd (SS:603315) was up 10.00% or 1.150 points to 12.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hainan HNA Infrastructure Investment Group Co Ltd (SS:600515), which lost 10.04% or 1.120 points to trade at 10.040 in late trade. Zhejiang Three Stars New Materials Co Ltd (SS:603578) declined 7.25% or 1.82 points to end at 23.27 and First Tractor Co Ltd (SS:601038) shed 6.81% or 0.390 points to 5.340.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical Co Ltd (SZ:002648) which rose 10.02% to 10.32, Guangdong Eastone Century Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300310) which was up 10.00% to settle at 5.28 and Westone Information Industry Inc (SZ:002268) which gained 9.99% to close at 21.14.
The worst performers were Harbin Gloria Pharmaceuticals (SZ:002437) which was down 10.02% to 5.57 in late trade, Giant Network Group Co Ltd (SZ:002558) which lost 9.93% to settle at 20.05 and Dongjiang Environmental Co Ltd (SZ:002672) which was down 8.00% to 13.80 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 776 to 593 and 59 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 6.29% to 21.79.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.00 to $1212.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $67.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.28 to trade at $72.53 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.44% to 6.8776, while EUR/CNY rose 0.15% to 7.8239.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 96.34.
