Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil Equipment Services & Distribution, Software & Computer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 1.05% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SZSE Component index declined 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Lushang Property Co Ltd (SS:600223), which rose 10.09% or 0.320 points to trade at 3.490 at the close. DELIXI XINJIANG Transportation Co Ltd (SS:603032) added 10.01% or 2.82 points to end at 30.99 and Beijing Huaye Capital Holdings Co Ltd (SS:600240) was up 9.85% or 0.270 points to 3.010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Join in Holding Co Ltd (SS:600745), which lost 10.00% or 2.500 points to trade at 22.500 in late trade. Shanghai Hugong Electric Group Co Ltd (SS:603131) declined 9.96% or 1.790 points to end at 16.180 and Shandong Xinchao Energy Co Ltd (SS:600777) shed 9.95% or 0.220 points to 1.990.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Yinyi Real Estate Co Ltd (SZ:000981) which rose 6.47% to 3.95, Xinzhi Motor Co Ltd (SZ:002664) which was up 4.68% to settle at 14.10 and Guangdong Eastone Century Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300310) which gained 4.23% to close at 5.17.
The worst performers were By health (SZ:300146) which was down 9.42% to 16.73 in late trade, Chengzhi Shareholding Co Ltd (SZ:000990) which lost 8.32% to settle at 12.56 and Jiangxi Zhengbang Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002157) which was down 7.94% to 4.87 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1197 to 220 and 58 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 27.79.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.75 to $1254.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.13% or 0.06 to hit $46.66 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.13 to trade at $56.39 a barrel.
USD/CNY was unchanged 0.00% to 6.8951, while EUR/CNY rose 0.26% to 7.8573.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.303.
