Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Oi SA (SA:OIBR4), which rose 5.02% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.48 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) added 3.50% or 0.55 points to end at 16.28 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was up 3.19% or 0.58 points to 18.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which lost 10.40% or 1.44 points to trade at 12.40 in late trade. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 3.58% or 0.74 points to end at 19.95 and PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) shed 3.03% or 0.010 points to 0.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 168 to 129 and 6 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.80% to 29.77.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1200.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.72% or 1.04 to hit $59.77 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 1.20 to trade at $127.08 .
USD/BRL was up 1.25% to 3.0976, while EUR/BRL rose 1.11% to 3.5157.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 94.30.
