Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.39% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4), which rose 4.78% or 0.43 points to trade at 9.43 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) added 4.70% or 0.27 points to end at 6.02 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was up 3.74% or 0.330 points to 9.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4), which lost 5.27% or 2.30 points to trade at 41.36 in late trade. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) declined 4.42% or 0.94 points to end at 20.34 and BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA:BBSE3) shed 4.37% or 1.42 points to 31.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 197 to 112 and 6 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.47% to 40.93 a new 6-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1123.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.62% or 0.27 to hit $43.34 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 3.70% or 5.08 to trade at $132.12 .
USD/BRL was up 0.20% to 3.4809, while EUR/BRL rose 1.29% to 3.8861.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.30.
