Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.67% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3), which rose 10.64% or 2.17 points to trade at 22.57 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) added 3.75% or 0.15 points to end at 4.15 and Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3) was up 2.94% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which lost 7.17% or 0.36 points to trade at 4.66 in late trade. Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) declined 4.62% or 0.26 points to end at 5.37 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) shed 3.30% or 0.11 points to 3.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 520 to 436 and 49 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.25% to 33.01.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 21.50 to $2,632.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.95% or 0.66 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.88% or 2.85 to trade at $321.80 .
USD/BRL was up 0.23% to 6.20, while EUR/BRL rose 0.59% to 6.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 107.82.
