Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.47% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3), which rose 4.32% or 0.60 points to trade at 14.50 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) added 4.20% or 1.01 points to end at 25.05 and Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3) was up 1.90% or 0.82 points to 44.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3), which lost 9.40% or 1.96 points to trade at 18.89 in late trade. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) declined 5.72% or 0.50 points to end at 8.24 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3) shed 4.08% or 0.19 points to 4.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 572 to 341 and 50 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.75% to 26.77.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 13.55 to $2,612.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.75% or 1.22 to hit $71.10 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.70% or 1.85 to trade at $262.55 .
USD/BRL was down 0.66% to 5.43, while EUR/BRL fell 0.20% to 6.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 100.35.
