Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3), which rose 9.86% or 0.34 points to trade at 3.79 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) added 7.91% or 3.10 points to end at 42.30 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) was up 5.32% or 2.26 points to 44.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3), which lost 5.17% or 2.79 points to trade at 51.15 in late trade. Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3) declined 4.97% or 0.66 points to end at 12.63 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) shed 4.32% or 0.06 points to 1.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 475 to 439 and 47 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.93% to 25.57.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.12% or 52.95 to $2,545.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.87% or 1.46 to hit $76.70 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.36% or 5.65 to trade at $245.55 .
USD/BRL was down 0.20% to 5.47, while EUR/BRL rose 0.35% to 6.03.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 102.28.
