Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption, Public Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3), which rose 7.11% or 2.20 points to trade at 33.14 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) added 6.87% or 0.53 points to end at 8.25 and Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) was up 5.48% or 1.53 points to 29.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5), which lost 23.31% or 1.93 points to trade at 6.35 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3) declined 1.30% or 0.68 points to end at 51.79 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) shed 1.18% or 0.11 points to 9.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 638 to 294 and 60 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.76% to 24.52.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.36% or 32.00 to $2,385.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.95% or 1.53 to hit $76.75 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.77% or 4.15 to trade at $230.55 .
USD/BRL was up 0.15% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.04% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.05.
