Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 13.99% or 0.75 points to trade at 6.11 at the close. IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) added 6.80% or 2.81 points to end at 44.16 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was up 4.71% or 1.15 points to 25.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which lost 8.70% or 2.28 points to trade at 23.92 in late trade. Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3) declined 1.68% or 0.70 points to end at 40.95 and 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) shed 1.35% or 0.23 points to 16.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 583 to 358 and 60 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.41% to 29.52.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,754.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 5.29% or 3.80 to hit $67.98 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.77% or 4.40 to trade at $252.80 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.04% to 5.71, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.07% to 6.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.16.
