Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3), which rose 8.07% or 0.93 points to trade at 12.45 at the close. Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) added 5.88% or 0.35 points to end at 6.30 and Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3) was up 4.36% or 1.78 points to 42.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3), which lost 1.53% or 0.76 points to trade at 48.93 in late trade. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 0.82% or 0.32 points to end at 38.71 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) shed 0.72% or 0.30 points to 41.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 473 to 454 and 57 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.23% to 28.45.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 6.40 to $2,333.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.31% or 0.24 to hit $77.98 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.13% or 2.50 to trade at $218.90 .
USD/BRL was up 0.19% to 5.36, while EUR/BRL fell 0.12% to 5.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.86.
