Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3), which rose 4.56% or 0.33 points to trade at 7.57 at the close. Ambev SA (BVMF:ABEV3) added 3.98% or 0.52 points to end at 13.60 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 3.39% or 0.16 points to 4.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which lost 4.69% or 0.35 points to trade at 7.12 in late trade. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) declined 4.65% or 0.29 points to end at 5.95 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) shed 2.27% or 0.15 points to 6.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 567 to 375 and 48 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.95% to 28.65 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 22.05 to $2,681.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.74% or 2.55 to hit $70.72 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.39% or 6.47 to trade at $263.78 .
USD/BRL was up 0.34% to 5.47, while EUR/BRL fell 0.30% to 6.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 100.95.
