Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which rose 4.66% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.84 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) added 3.74% or 0.88 points to end at 24.41 and Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3) was up 3.25% or 0.45 points to 14.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which lost 3.06% or 0.22 points to trade at 6.97 in late trade. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 2.19% or 1.22 points to end at 54.44 and Rede D’Or São Luiz SA (BVMF:RDOR3) shed 2.17% or 0.64 points to 28.82.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 541 to 398 and 60 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.49% to 29.59.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 21.65 to $2,636.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.26 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.70% or 1.97 to trade at $284.17 .
USD/BRL was up 0.39% to 5.77, while EUR/BRL rose 0.33% to 6.11.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.11.
