Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 10.91% or 0.54 points to trade at 5.49 at the close. CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) added 6.93% or 0.46 points to end at 7.10 and Santos Brasil Participacoes SA (BVMF:STBP3) was up 3.94% or 0.52 points to 13.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3), which lost 5.30% or 2.75 points to trade at 49.18 in late trade. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) declined 4.21% or 0.20 points to end at 4.55 and 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) shed 3.81% or 0.84 points to 21.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 513 to 415 and 75 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.90% to 25.65.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $2,610.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.30% or 1.56 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.08% or 0.20 to trade at $259.65 .
USD/BRL was down 1.00% to 5.51, while EUR/BRL fell 1.72% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 100.36.
