Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.06% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3), which rose 4.12% or 0.73 points to trade at 18.43 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3) added 4.00% or 0.30 points to end at 7.80 and Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) was up 3.45% or 2.00 points to 60.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3), which lost 3.29% or 1.00 points to trade at 29.40 in late trade. Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) declined 2.76% or 0.85 points to end at 29.90 and Dexco SA (BVMF:DXCO3) shed 2.75% or 0.23 points to 8.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 475 to 443 and 74 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.19% to 26.19.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.30 to $2,560.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.13% or 1.65 to hit $75.77 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.42% or 6.05 to trade at $255.70 .
USD/BRL was up 0.35% to 5.51, while EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 6.15.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.46.
