Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.15%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP), which rose 4.43% or 3.22 points to trade at 75.87 at the close. Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 2.73% or 0.94 points to end at 35.40 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) was up 1.78% or 0.28 points to 15.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PA:TECF), which lost 3.82% or 1.61 points to trade at 40.58 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.50% or 0.08 points to end at 3.23 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) shed 2.41% or 0.230 points to 9.320.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which rose 12.35% to 20.10, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 11.08% to settle at 22.310 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 10.66% to close at 8.242.
The worst performers were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 6.91% to 9.275 in late trade, CGG (PA:GEPH) which lost 4.00% to settle at 0.48 and Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 3.82% to 40.58 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 435 to 235 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.34% to 29.80.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.87% or 10.50 to $1221.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.01% or 0.31 to hit $30.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.18 to trade at $34.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1095, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7743.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 96.96.
