Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Industrials and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.99% or 0.15 points to trade at 15.26 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) added 0.95% or 0.420 points to end at 44.640 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.63% or 0.85 points to 136.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which lost 4.96% or 0.38 points to trade at 7.26 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.58% or 1.10 points to end at 68.45 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) shed 1.04% or 0.330 points to 31.285.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 75 and 4 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.50 to $1175.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.32% or 0.15 to hit $46.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.10 to trade at $48.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.7345.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 94.85.
