Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.39% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.55% or 1.12 points to trade at 73.26 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.45% or 0.28 points to end at 62.00 and Cofinimmo SA (BR:COFB) was down 0.09% or 0.10 points to 109.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 6.16% or 5.40 points to trade at 82.20 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 5.12% or 0.505 points to end at 9.357 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 4.02% or 2.400 points to 57.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 18 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 8.20 to $1264.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.05% or 1.95 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.70% or 2.12 to trade at $55.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.1453, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9042.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 95.893.
