Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 1.22% or 0.56 points to trade at 46.50 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.61% or 0.49 points to end at 80.65 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.45% or 0.50 points to 110.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 13.07% or 2.39 points to trade at 15.89 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 5.73% or 6.75 points to end at 111.00 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 2.88% or 2.240 points to 75.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 46 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.65% or 8.50 to $1314.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $67.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $73.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.35.
