Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 3.11% or 0.56 points to trade at 18.58 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.47% or 0.50 points to end at 107.50 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.45% or 0.05 points to 11.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 4.36% or 4.100 points to trade at 90.000 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 3.85% or 3.30 points to end at 82.40 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 2.28% or 0.97 points to 41.64.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 44 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.60 to $1203.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.15% or 0.69 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.90 to trade at $71.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1252, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8751.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 97.28.
