Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB), which rose 0.31% or 0.20 points to trade at 65.30 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.23% or 0.06 points to end at 26.30 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 0.22% or 0.16 points to 74.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 2.15% or 4.15 points to trade at 188.50 in late trade. Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB) declined 1.65% or 180.00 points to end at 10,700.00 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 1.59% or 9.60 points to 595.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.63% or 16.69 to $2,615.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.32% or 0.93 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.71 to trade at $74.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 108.05.
