Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.70% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 3.19% or 1.49 points to trade at 48.23 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.74% or 0.62 points to end at 83.89 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.52% or 0.20 points to 38.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 5.94% or 0.91 points to trade at 14.42 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.50% or 0.50 points to end at 19.50 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.66% or 1.85 points to 109.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.40% or 5.10 to $1269.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $65.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 1.07 to trade at $73.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1597, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.59.
