Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 5.15% or 2.18 points to trade at 44.52 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.70% or 0.36 points to end at 51.88 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.46% or 0.50 points to 108.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 3.12% or 1.18 points to trade at 36.70 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.19% or 0.28 points to end at 12.50 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.67% or 1.80 points to 106.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 42 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.67% or 8.40 to $1247.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.32% or 1.72 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.13% or 2.47 to trade at $76.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1717, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.12.
