Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 0.32% or 0.07 points to trade at 23.57 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.19% or 0.20 points to end at 107.40 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.15% or 0.110 points to 75.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 1.35% or 1.33 points to trade at 96.90 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.02% or 0.45 points to end at 43.32 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 0.89% or 1.10 points to 122.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.10% or 14.34 to $1312.24 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.41% or 1.63 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 0.69 to trade at $51.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1980, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.9264.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 92.17.
