Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (EBR:SOF), which rose 1.33% or 2.80 points to trade at 213.00 at the close. Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) added 1.14% or 0.28 points to end at 24.86 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.05% or 0.70 points to 67.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 2.82% or 0.32 points to trade at 11.04 in late trade. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) declined 2.08% or 3.20 points to end at 150.45 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 1.65% or 8.00 points to 477.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 46 to 43 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.98% or 24.50 to $2,483.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.68 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.31 to trade at $80.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 102.30.
