Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.38% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 0.73% or 0.320 points to trade at 44.030 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.43% or 0.280 points to end at 66.160 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 0.25% or 0.20 points to 79.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 4.23% or 1.70 points to trade at 38.48 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.59% or 0.39 points to end at 14.66 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.77% or 1.500 points to 83.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 30 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.16% or 2.10 to $1278.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.84% or 1.21 to hit $64.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.61 to trade at $74.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1571, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.73.
