Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 1.97% or 0.70 points to trade at 36.31 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 0.87% or 4.30 points to end at 496.70 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 0.76% or 0.55 points to 73.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 2.83% or 2.90 points to trade at 99.70 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 2.45% or 0.17 points to end at 6.78 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) shed 2.06% or 4.00 points to 190.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 30 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.62% or 16.80 to $2,673.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.22 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.26.
