Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.06% or 0.70 points to trade at 34.64 at the close. Sofina (EBR:SOF) added 1.72% or 3.60 points to end at 212.80 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.42% or 0.85 points to 60.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 3.07% or 4.35 points to trade at 137.15 in late trade. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 1.63% or 1.38 points to end at 83.20 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) shed 1.05% or 0.72 points to 67.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 1.10 to $2,461.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $81.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $85.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.73.
