Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 5.12% or 2.68 points to trade at 55.06 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 3.54% or 0.42 points to end at 12.45 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.19% or 2.940 points to 95.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 1.43% or 0.45 points to trade at 31.03 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 0.12% or 0.10 points to end at 86.80 and Ageas (BR:AGES) gained 0.45% or 0.200 points to 44.750.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 34 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.41% or 5.00 to $1228.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.93% or 0.58 to hit $61.63 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $71.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8720.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.79.
