Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB), which rose 4.01% or 420.00 points to trade at 10,900.00 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 1.68% or 2.80 points to end at 169.30 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 1.57% or 0.85 points to 55.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 1.48% or 0.16 points to trade at 10.67 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.35% or 0.80 points to end at 58.45 and Elia (EBR:ELI) shed 1.34% or 1.10 points to 81.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 50 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.79% or 49.31 to $2,707.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.37% or 0.26 to hit $70.03 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.22 to trade at $73.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 106.26.
