Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 2.50% or 2.50 points to trade at 102.70 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 2.47% or 0.26 points to end at 10.77 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 1.91% or 0.46 points to 24.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which lost 0.79% or 1.50 points to trade at 188.00 in late trade. Sofina (EBR:SOF) declined 0.47% or 1.20 points to end at 253.40 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 0.37% or 1.80 points to 480.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 41 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.35 to $2,653.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.28% or 0.91 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.80 to trade at $72.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 100.57.
