Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.12% or 3.400 points to trade at 85.960 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.24% or 0.560 points to end at 45.560 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.82% or 0.40 points to 49.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 0.78% or 0.18 points to trade at 22.85 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 0.70% or 0.16 points to end at 22.68 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.27% or 0.11 points to 41.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 37 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.16% or 2.10 to $1289.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.91% or 0.65 to hit $72.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.34 to trade at $78.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8778.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.59.
