Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which rose 27.09% or 34.00 points to trade at 159.50 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.71% or 1.55 points to end at 58.65 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 1.57% or 1.20 points to 77.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB), which lost 2.59% or 280.00 points to trade at 10,540.00 in late trade. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 1.63% or 0.53 points to end at 32.05 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) shed 1.18% or 0.56 points to 46.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.17% or 31.34 to $2,717.14 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.80% or 0.55 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 106.21.
