Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 2.66% or 4.40 points to trade at 169.80 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 2.22% or 0.86 points to end at 39.65 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.02% or 0.236 points to 11.908 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.01% or 0.900 points to trade at 88.220 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 0.65% or 0.16 points to end at 24.30 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 0.53% or 0.40 points to 74.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 39 and 26 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.30 to $1195.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.01% or 0.66 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.47 to trade at $72.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1534, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8969.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.41.
