Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 3.28% or 1.24 points to trade at 39.05 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 2.50% or 0.47 points to end at 19.25 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 2.04% or 0.28 points to 13.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 0.45% or 0.22 points to trade at 48.66 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.12% or 0.01 points to end at 12.43 and UCB (BR:UCB) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 78.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 52 and 25 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1204.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.03% or 0.71 to hit $69.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.78 to trade at $78.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1684, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8879.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 94.09.
