Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 2.04% or 11.40 points to trade at 569.60 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) added 1.26% or 0.86 points to end at 68.96 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 0.86% or 0.09 points to 10.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 3.42% or 2.90 points to trade at 81.90 in late trade. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) declined 1.81% or 1.05 points to end at 57.05 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) shed 1.66% or 0.95 points to 56.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 30 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.65% or 17.00 to $2,589.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $68.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 106.40.
