Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 1.51% or 0.48 points to trade at 32.18 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) added 1.21% or 0.75 points to end at 62.50 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 1.11% or 2.00 points to 181.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 1.40% or 0.16 points to trade at 11.24 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 0.80% or 0.65 points to end at 80.95 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) shed 0.79% or 0.55 points to 69.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 6.25 to $2,533.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.95% or 0.70 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.55 to trade at $77.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 101.61.
