Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Basic Metals and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 4.42% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 1.29% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.570 at the close. Trakya Cam (IS:TRKCM) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 2.230 and Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ) was down 0.18% or 0.02 points to 10.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK), which lost 10.16% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.150 in late trade. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 9.64% or 0.800 points to end at 7.500 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) shed 9.51% or 1.04 points to 9.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 365 to 24 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.73% or 9.65 to $1328.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.81% or 0.83 to hit $44.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.57% or 0.74 to trade at $46.43 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.54% to 3.0728, while EUR/TRY fell 0.53% to 3.3876.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.02.
