Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 6.14% or 0.0379 points to trade at 0.6556 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 4.55% or 0.1110 points to end at 2.5510 and Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) was up 1.90% or 16.0 points to 859.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MMK (MCX:MAGN), which lost 2.99% or 0.730 points to trade at 23.700 in late trade. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.54% or 69.0 points to end at 2649.0 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) shed 2.37% or 1.99 points to 82.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 105 and 32 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.41% to 34.600.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.29% or 17.25 to $1356.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.51% or 2.21 to hit $46.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 4.29% or 2.15 to trade at $47.95 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.77% to 64.4197, while EUR/RUB rose 0.06% to 71.437.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.08.
