Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols (MC:GRLS), which rose 2.12% or 0.905 points to trade at 43.560 at the close. Bankia (MC:BKIA) added 1.89% or 0.022 points to end at 1.186 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) was up 1.80% or 0.280 points to 15.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 4.27% or 0.206 points to trade at 4.615 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 2.49% or 0.160 points to end at 6.277 and Endesa (MC:ELE) shed 2.33% or 0.470 points to 19.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 105 and 5 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.70% or 7.50 to $1068.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.91% or 0.38 to hit $42.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 0.73 to trade at $45.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.0620, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7020.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 99.87.
