Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LISBON:CTT), which rose 1.90% or 0.1790 points to trade at 9.5860 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) added 1.33% or 0.01 points to end at 0.76 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was up 1.28% or 0.0130 points to 1.0290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 2.59% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.2630 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 1.67% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0060 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) shed 1.27% or 0.1300 points to 10.1400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 35 to 28 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.28% or 0.14 to $48.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.80% or 0.34 to hit $42.75 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 2.70 to trade at $1115.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 0.91% to 0.7043.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 97.05.
