Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Food Producers and Software & Computers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.23% or 1.70 points to trade at 139.50 at the close. Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 1.05% or 0.90 points to end at 86.71 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb) was up 0.85% or 0.510 points to 60.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which lost 4.10% or 0.30 points to trade at 7.08 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.94% or 0.67 points to end at 21.98 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) shed 2.73% or 0.860 points to 30.630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 61 and 5 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.50 to $1106.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.73% or 0.34 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.01 to trade at $48.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0872, while EUR/GBP rose 1.03% to 0.7136.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 98.11.
