Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.33% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 3.99% or 0.800 points to trade at 20.720 at the close. Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) added 2.83% or 0.350 points to end at 12.590 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.91% or 2.260 points to 120.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 2.40% or 6.530 points to trade at 266.840 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.31% or 1.110 points to end at 46.850 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) shed 1.59% or 2.040 points to 125.950.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 42 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1200.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.72% or 1.04 to hit $59.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.41 to trade at $62.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 15.3402, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 17.4124.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 94.30.
